There's no crying in baseball, but is there crying for baseball?

PED, Steroids, Fertility Drugs...I know we all must be sick to our stomachs having to listen and watch everyday as the game we grew up with, grows into something that we cant stand.

For every Bobby Sclaes story (which if you dont know, google it!) there is a story about a story about players hurting the integrity of themselves and their league. The story of pricing out the ''rowdy'' yankee fans, so when you watch a game on tv, you cant hear the two strike roar of the crowd.

Why are the Yankees trying to price themselves in the same category as the Lakers, whose fans would rather be seen on TMZ and sit on their hands for the whole game, rather than embrace it? Lord knows we dont need another article about tarnished figures, so we should look to the people that make us remember why we play, or watch the games. No more Vick stories, Favre's re-re-re-retirements, no more Bonds, or A-Rod stories. You cant watch a telecast of any sport without hearing 1 story of these. What we need is a story to captivate us into the game again, or the major 3 sports will fall into what the beloved 4th sport (hockey) has fallen into. Not loss of fans, because there is plenty. But we need to step away from business and back into love of sport.

Where are the Billy Chapels, the Jimmy Dugans, the Michael Lewis(beer delivery guy to living the dream as an NFL player) of sports at? its time to have Pedro Cerrano do soe voodoo to help us love sports again. Or at least help the owners and players remember. Because I dont want to cry for our sports any longer.

short guy in the deep end

trying to start this and keep my head above water. trying to follow in the footsteps of many accomplished writers, and trying not to suck on all topics. lets start by writing on a topic that drew a 1.2 viewing ratings....should lead to followers, huh?

HOCKEY.
CAPS vs PENS
1.2.....let me put into perspective what a 1.2 viewers ratings is. lets say espn puts wyoming state and kool-aid cult of omaha pn tv on a randon thursday night. while it competes with the office, and greys anaotomy. it draws like a 3.6.

how can the nhl sustain is if it is drawing to no one on a channel that only 60% of ''actual'' fans have access to? i say actual fans, bc you have those people that follow only if their team is in the playoffs, or are from that city~que eminem, you cant claim your from detroit if you live outside the city...say ann arbor.

they have a bird vs magic feel to it, but no one cares. ovechkin vs crosby....i may be a homer bc im from pennsylvania and a huge pittsburgh everything fan, but these are the faces of the league and no one cares. they would prolly get a better rating if they showed bird and magic plying 1 on 1 on skates in a shootout.
